Turkey Time for The Art of Storage

The Art of Storage II

Whoosh…….. Thanksgiving is here, the turkey is in the brine and hopefully we have remembered all the ingredients that made last years stuffing such a great success.  As we go over our “to-do” list at The Art of Storage, we almost always forget that with all the extra folks coming to visit we’ve got to make room in our closets.  Of course making room in our closets is easy for us, it’s what we do for a living.  What about the guest who are just coming for dinner?  Let’s face it family come first and usually get the prime spots in our storage areas. One reason we have been as successful as a company is that we face the same problems you do.  Each year we end up with extra coats, gloves scarves and umbrellas thrown everywhere.  It’s one of the reasons we developed the Brahms Coat Rack and the Ravel Bedroom Valet Stand. Both of these free standing racks provide just what visiting holiday guests need.  Good looking places to hang coats and other wearable’s while not taking up a lot of room.  Not to mention that they can be taken apart and stored elsewhere when the guest tide subsides. So Thanksgiving should help us think ahead and remember that the big holiday is just around the corner.  Say,,,,, maybe we should be thinking of some Christmas gifts as well?

Holiday Hang-Ups

Greetings All:

Yikes ! We just did a count there are 8 days until Thanksgiving and 38 days until Christmas. And by the time you read this the time should have grown even shorter.

At the Art of Storage we don’t know about you but it seems that every time we change the clocks we should be warned that something big is coming up and we’d best respond to the early warning system built into the act of turning them forward or backward.

It happens every autumn and after a number of years you would think that we’d be use to it and recognize the signals that the weather is going to change and the holidays are screaming down upon us and we’d better get ready for the changing weather by changing our closets and preparing for the festivities and the guest arrivals associated with family celebrations.

We always start to look for our sweaters, warm coats, socks (since we haven’t had any on since the weather broke in spring) and of course the winter bedding. Usually we begin by pulling out just what we need for the first brisk days in a piecemeal, ad hock manner but prior to Thanksgiving we really realize that we’d better get more serious about making the change over. Putting the t shirts, shorts and polo shirts away and getting out the flannel shirts, socks, sweaters, robes and the rest of toasty things necessary to feel cozy both inside and out.

Not to mention what are we going to do when our families arrive? Where are we going to put them along with their packages, gifts and of course all the clothing they have brought with them? You would be surprised how many of our employees purchase our products at this time of year to help ease themselves through the inevitable problem of having clothing, coats, sweaters, gloves and even bath towels stacked on top of each other with family and guests in the house.

We notice one item that seems to have an enormous popularity with our staff at this time of year is our Vivadi Over the Door Hook.

We guess that because it is a temporary solution to having extra hanging space. We designed it to slip over a door, provide 3 extra coat, sweater or even towel drying hooks and be removed and placed in any room of the house. Our staff must think it makes great sense as we notice that their personal orders at this time of the year. Give it a try in your house now, shipping’s on us for two of these useful hooks (use coupon code otd).

In our next edition we’ll look at some other holiday solutions to some different kind of storage problems and who knows maybe some suggestions for your holiday table as well.

We’ll talk soon. So until that time Hang in there.
