As our name (the art of storage) indicates we spend our days and many nights thinking about the storage and hanging problems. That may be the reason that we keep designing new products that help solve problems. As a matter of fact since you are on our web site you might want to take a look at the various coat hooks, hangers, coat racks, bedroom valets and even garage and sports organizers we continue to create.

In each case we’ve tried to take what could be considered utilitarian items and with fresh innovative thinking raise the bar on creativity, function and quality. Taking the old (poke a hole in your coat) coat hook past its design boundaries we have spent hours developing products that are as kind to your clothing as they are pleasing to our design aesthetics. While at the same time making sure that our cost/solution ratio keeps providing great value. As you will note we even offer finish options in stainless steel or a mat powder finish to go in any room.

We are not about to tell you that these products are right for everyone on your gift list. However we do find that our products find their way into lots of Christmas stockings and at the top of many “Honey Do” lists in the post holiday season.

Each Tuesday of every week we all gather in our lunch room to have a casual brainstorming meeting about what we have all seen in the previous week and to check progress on new and developing ideas. This week’s forum over the usual coffee, granola and muffins took a very unexpected but welcomed turn when someone brought up the subject of how we might all help those who are less fortunate.

It is no secret that there are lots of people out there who are suffering for lots of reasons. We all feel a great corporate responsibility to help in any way we can. In better times we might have thought about simply writing a check but we all know this has been a tough year for every company and the funds are simply not available as they have been in the past. We also realize that we should look to have our efforts travel past our doors if we are going to do any good at all.

So in our usual creative ”half full” brain set we have all agreed on a fresh new idea which fits our profile as storage utilization specialists and makes great sense for the art of storage to become the flag bearers for not only this year, but for many years to come. We look forward to passing it along to you in our next writing.

TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, THE CLOCK KEEPS MOVING….HANGING IN THERE

WE WILL NOT PANIC……WE WILL NOT PANIC… THIS IS THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER………AGAIN ? YIKES, WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO? We wish we could answer that question for you. It seems to us at “the art of storage” that we have spent the entire year designing, creating, and improving our products. We know that some of you must wonder how and why we do that. The answer is that we are just like you, we start exactly where you do, with a problem that needs a solution. In our case we identify a problem we have in our own lives and then set about finding a solution that is well thought out, well designed and well manufactured. Of course the solution also has to be practical and smart from a cost/solution basis. After all anyone with enough money can solve a problem. But speaking about smart cost/solutions answers to problems and since you are on our web site you might want to do a little shopping for some gift ideas for friends and relatives. What better gifts to give than ones that solve problems that we all have? Just a mind jiggle for you, we will bet you that you know someone who is either getting a bike or giving a bike. We will also bet you that unless they are under the age of 7 they won’t be spending 24/7 with their tail attached to the seat. So why not provide a solution before it becomes a problem and the car gets scratched or runs over the newest addition to the space in the garage. Take a look at our bike rack solutions. More gift ideas next addition… Happy shopping…tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock…. Time she’s a wasting.

Whoosh…….. Thanksgiving is here, the turkey is in the brine and hopefully we have remembered all the ingredients that made last years stuffing such a great success. As we go over our “to-do” list at The Art of Storage, we almost always forget that with all the extra folks coming to visit we’ve got to make room in our closets. Of course making room in our closets is easy for us, it’s what we do for a living. What about the guest who are just coming for dinner? Let’s face it family come first and usually get the prime spots in our storage areas. One reason we have been as successful as a company is that we face the same problems you do. Each year we end up with extra coats, gloves scarves and umbrellas thrown everywhere. It’s one of the reasons we developed the Brahms Coat Rack and the Ravel Bedroom Valet Stand. Both of these free standing racks provide just what visiting holiday guests need. Good looking places to hang coats and other wearable’s while not taking up a lot of room. Not to mention that they can be taken apart and stored elsewhere when the guest tide subsides. So Thanksgiving should help us think ahead and remember that the big holiday is just around the corner. Say,,,,, maybe we should be thinking of some Christmas gifts as well?

Greetings All:

Yikes ! We just did a count there are 8 days until Thanksgiving and 38 days until Christmas. And by the time you read this the time should have grown even shorter.

At the Art of Storage we don’t know about you but it seems that every time we change the clocks we should be warned that something big is coming up and we’d best respond to the early warning system built into the act of turning them forward or backward.

It happens every autumn and after a number of years you would think that we’d be use to it and recognize the signals that the weather is going to change and the holidays are screaming down upon us and we’d better get ready for the changing weather by changing our closets and preparing for the festivities and the guest arrivals associated with family celebrations.

We always start to look for our sweaters, warm coats, socks (since we haven’t had any on since the weather broke in spring) and of course the winter bedding. Usually we begin by pulling out just what we need for the first brisk days in a piecemeal, ad hock manner but prior to Thanksgiving we really realize that we’d better get more serious about making the change over. Putting the t shirts, shorts and polo shirts away and getting out the flannel shirts, socks, sweaters, robes and the rest of toasty things necessary to feel cozy both inside and out.

Not to mention what are we going to do when our families arrive? Where are we going to put them along with their packages, gifts and of course all the clothing they have brought with them? You would be surprised how many of our employees purchase our products at this time of year to help ease themselves through the inevitable problem of having clothing, coats, sweaters, gloves and even bath towels stacked on top of each other with family and guests in the house.

We notice one item that seems to have an enormous popularity with our staff at this time of year is our Vivadi Over the Door Hook.

vivaldi over the door hooks

We guess that because it is a temporary solution to having extra hanging space. We designed it to slip over a door, provide 3 extra coat, sweater or even towel drying hooks and be removed and placed in any room of the house. Our staff must think it makes great sense as we notice that their personal orders at this time of the year. Give it a try in your house now, shipping’s on us for two of these useful hooks (use coupon code otd).

In our next edition we’ll look at some other holiday solutions to some different kind of storage problems and who knows maybe some suggestions for your holiday table as well.

We’ll talk soon. So until that time Hang in there.
